From Gaming to Voice Acting: Joe Marie Levado’s CVAP Batch 19 Experience
Joe Marie Levado, a native of Cebu City, is one of the graduates of Batch 19 of the Certified Voice Artist Program (CVAP). His journey into voice artistry began in an unexpected but familiar place—video games.
As an avid player of games like Valorant, League of Legends, and Genshin Impact, Joe found himself constantly drawn to the voices behind the characters. The voice lines, character personalities, and immersive performances sparked his curiosity about voice acting and the industry behind it. What started as simple admiration soon grew into a genuine interest in pursuing voice work.
Driven by this curiosity, Joe began searching for voice auditions online. However, he realized that before jumping into auditions, he needed to first improve his skills and find out if he truly had what it takes to become a voice artist. This search for growth led him to discover the Certified Voice Artist Program through continuous research.
Joining CVAP proved to be a turning point. Over the course of four weeks, Joe gained a deeper understanding of voice artistry and, more importantly, of himself. The program helped him recognize that while he already had potential, there was still plenty of room to improve, practice, and learn. Rather than feeling discouraged, this realization motivated him even more.
One of the highlights of Joe’s CVAP experience was the community. He found himself surrounded by supportive, respectful, and encouraging voice mates and mentors who guided him without harsh criticism. The mentors’ constructive approach made learning both effective and enjoyable, allowing him to grow with confidence.
Looking back, Joe is grateful not only for the skills he developed but also for the welcoming environment that CVAP provided. For him, CVAP was not just a training program—it was a safe space to explore, improve, and begin his journey as a voice artist.
With a stronger foundation, renewed motivation, and a supportive community behind him, Joe Marie Levado now moves forward, ready to continue improving his craft and exploring the world of voice acting.
