Finding His Voice: J. Matthew Binius’ Journey Through the Certified Voice Artist Program

For J. Matthew Binius, also known as Foxinger Matt, using his voice has always been more than a hobby—it has been a passion. Since 2017, he has consistently explored voice artistry by participating in local events and competing in inter-school newscasting and broadcasting contests. Even while he was still studying, Matthew already knew that his voice was something he wanted to develop as an art. Today, that long-standing passion has come full circle as he proudly graduates from the Certified Voice Artist Program (CVAP)—a milestone that marks a major turning point in his creative and professional journey. Matthew is an active member of the Voice of the Youth Network in General Santos City, led by Mr. Harlem Jude Ferolino. It was through this network that he was first introduced to CVAP in 2021. At the time, he was even accepted as a scholar under the program. However, due to academic responsibilities and a busy schedule, he was unable to pursue the training then. Years later, the opportunity returned—and this time, Matthew was ready. Joining CVAP Batch 19 proved to be a transformative experience. The program deepened his understanding of voice artistry, teaching him not only how to use his voice effectively, but also the technical foundations of voice dubbing, voice imitation, and professional voice performance. More importantly, CVAP emphasized the importance of vocal care and overall well-being—essential lessons for sustaining a long-term career as a voice artist. Matthew reflects on the clear difference between where he was before and where he is now. Through CVAP, he gained confidence, discipline, and the technical knowledge needed to elevate his craft. What once felt instinctive is now supported by proper techniques and professional training. Beyond skills, the journey was also one of gratitude. Matthew expressed heartfelt thanks to the people behind the Certified Voice Artist Program for granting him a scholarship for Batch 19. He also acknowledged his colleagues from the Voice of the Youth Network for opening the door and encouraging him to take this path. Special appreciation was given to Mr. Pocholo De Leon Gonzalez, founder of CVAP, for creating opportunities that empower aspiring voice artists across the country. Now officially a Certified Voice Artist, Matthew looks forward to the many doors that this milestone will open. With renewed confidence, refined skills, and a strong foundation, he is ready to step into a future shaped by passion, perseverance, and purpose. Once again, he proudly introduces himself—not just as Foxinger Matt—but as J. Matthew Binius, Certified Voice Artist.
