Finding Purpose Through Voice: My Life-Changing CVAP JourneyBefore joining the Certified Voice Artist Program (CVAP), art streaming and gaming had always been my escape. They were my way of interacting with people, being creative, and sharing my love for gaming. While they were fun and fulfilling on the surface, they did not help me face reality. Deep inside, I felt lost and unsure about my future. Gaming became a way to escape, and over time, I began to lose sight of who I was beyond the screen. Everything changed when my sister decided to sponsor me and signed me up for the CVAP workshop. I was hesitant at first. I wasn’t sure if I was ready, and I even thought about postponing it to a later batch. Although I had considered voice acting as a possible career before, I never had the courage to fully pursue it. Still, I trusted my sister’s judgment and told myself, “You only live once.” I decided to give it a try and see where the journey would take me. From the very beginning, I knew CVAP was different. The orientation night was warm, welcoming, and full of energy. I was even called into the spotlight during a Zoom session—something that made me nervous at first. But I quickly realized that there was nothing to be ashamed of. Everyone was there for the same reason: a shared passion for voice acting. That realization allowed me to relax, have fun, and fully embrace the experience. The instructors were exceptional. They were knowledgeable, supportive, and truly passionate about what they were teaching. The curriculum was engaging and challenging, pushing us to grow beyond our comfort zones. What inspired me most were the stories they shared—where they started, the struggles they faced, and where they are now after CVAP. These stories gave me hope and motivation to believe that growth was possible. Throughout the program, I learned so much about the art of voice acting, including character development, script analysis, vocal techniques, and proper vocal care. One of the most memorable experiences for me was being assigned as a group leader. At first, I doubted myself, but I accepted the challenge. Directing my voice mates during a dubbing activity—guiding them on enunciation and performance, was both intimidating and rewarding. When we finally heard our output, it was amazing to realize what we could create using only our voices. CVAP gave me something I had been missing for a long time: purpose and direction. For the first time, I felt confident that I was good at something and that I had found a passion worth pursuing wholeheartedly. I became more confident, more driven, and more hopeful about my future. More than just skills, CVAP gave me a family. The support, encouragement, and sense of belonging I experienced made the journey even more meaningful. It truly felt like gaining an extended family that believes in you and celebrates your growth. I wholeheartedly recommend CVAP to anyone who feels lost or unsure about their path. It is more than a workshop—it is a game changer. For me, it changed my life, strengthened my confidence, and gave me the courage to dream again. With my CVAP family supporting me, I know I am ready to move forward and see where my voice can take me.
