MKZvoices - Parting Is Such Sweet Sorrow (CVAP Day 4)

Writing this feels a little bitter-sweet, yet at the same time, I feel kind of excited. Why? Because we're almost at the finish line, and we can already taste that sweet victory. 💛

One month is not enough, yet I find it still impressive how we learned a lot of things in such a short period. Guess time does fly when you're having fun :)

We started the day as usual, and for our guest speaker, we had Ms. Lyn Gonzalez, a member of the pioneering batch for the Certifed Voice Artist Program. She shared with us the tips and tricks of the world of voice artistry. Just like any other industry, it has its ups and downs. People are always bound to say mean things about you. However, we should always keep our chin up and not let it affect us.

One way to become an efficient voice artist is to practice. Remember that every expert was once a beginner. Each voice artist has a unique way of delivering a line. Constantly reciting tongue twisters is a big help too, specifically when it comes to pronunciation & enunciation.

She also taught us how to read sample scripts & a few basic acting techniques. Being a voice artist means that we can be versatile with our voices. Some are good with voice-overs, while others are good with voice-acting. It's all about finding your niche. You have to have your signature brand. Always look ahead into the future. And if you want people to remember your name, don't be afraid to stand out!

Know your vision: Without vision, people perish (Proverbs 29:18)

I will be forever grateful for this opportunity. Never in my life would I imagine myself doing this. I'm practically stepping out of my comfort zone. Thank you to our VoiceMaster Pocholo Gonzales for creating this program. Sound cliche, but this is probably the best thing that has happened to me since the pandemic. I'm not just any voice talent. I am a voice artist.

And my story is just beginning.

xo,
Mau aka MKZvoices
