Discovering the Power of One’s Voice Through the Certified Voice Artist Program
Many people join training programs with a specific goal in mind. For one participant of the Certified Voice Artist Program (CVAP), the intention was simple: to improve his speaking voice so he could sound better when he returned to producing his podcast. Podcasting had always been one of his dreams, and he believed that strengthening his voice would help him communicate his ideas more clearly and confidently. However, what he experienced in the program went far beyond his original expectations.
At the beginning, he saw CVAP mainly as a way to enhance his speaking ability. Yet as the sessions progressed, he realized that the program offered much more than voice improvement. The activities introduced him to new skills he had never explored before, including basic audio and video editing as well as elements of dubbing. These experiences allowed him to see voice artistry from a completely different perspective.
One of the most fascinating parts of the journey was hearing his own voice in new ways. Through the different projects assigned in the program, he repeatedly listened to recordings of himself. Each time, he noticed something different—another tone, another expression, another possibility. Activities such as producing radio and television commercials helped him experiment with delivery and emotion, ultimately helping him discover a voice he had never fully appreciated before.
For the first time, he found himself enjoying the sound of his own voice. Listening to the demo reels he created during the program left him amazed. He could hardly believe that the different voices and styles he was hearing were all his own. This realization opened his eyes to the many possibilities his voice held. With continuous practice and dedication, he understood that his voice could be used in ways he had never imagined.
Beyond technical skills, the program also helped him discover something deeper about himself. He realized that his voice, like everyone else's, is unique. While it may have its flaws or limitations and may not sound like other voices, it carries its own distinct character and meaning. That uniqueness gave him the confidence to express himself more openly and authentically.
Of course, not every activity felt comfortable. There were tasks—such as certain forms of character acting—that he discovered were not aligned with his interests or strengths. However, even these experiences were valuable. They helped him better understand what he enjoyed and what might not be his niche in the field of voice artistry. Instead of viewing those moments as failures, he saw them as opportunities for self-discovery.
The program also challenged him to step outside his comfort zone. Many of the assignments required him to try things he had never done before or had no prior experience with. Yet, as someone who has spent years working in change management, he welcomed these challenges. For him, change always brings the opportunity to learn and grow.
Another meaningful outcome of the program was how it helped him come out of his shell. Through the activities and encouragement within the community, he began to appreciate and value the voice he had been given. He came to see it not just as a skill to improve, but as a gift from God—something meaningful that could be used to serve and inspire others.
This realization was strengthened by a quote he remembered: “Love wasn’t put in your heart to stay, for love isn’t love until you give it away.” In the same way, he realized that his voice was not meant to remain unused or unheard. It was meant to be shared.
Through CVAP, he became convinced that somewhere out there, someone needs to hear his voice. Perhaps someone struggling with life might find encouragement through the stories he shares in his podcast. Perhaps someone listening might feel less alone, realizing that others are walking similar paths. His voice, he realized, has the potential to inspire, uplift, and help others become better versions of themselves.
In the end, the Certified Voice Artist Program gave him more than improved vocal skills—it gave him a deeper sense of purpose. He now sees his voice as a way of giving back to God by using it to inspire others and share meaningful life stories.
With a heart full of gratitude, he expressed his thanks to the program and its advocates. The journey reminded him that a single voice, when used with sincerity and purpose, can truly make a difference in the lives of others.
