Unlocking My Voice: Jordin’s Journey in the Certified Voice Artist Program

Jordin’s Journey in the Certified Voice Artist Program

For Jordin, also known as the “Serene Voice Queen,” joining the Certified Voice Artist Program (CVAP) became a transformative journey of growth, discovery, and personal healing. What seemed like just one month of training turned out to be a life-changing experience filled with challenges, new friendships, and unforgettable lessons.

Although the program lasted only a month, Jordin described it as a period packed with meaningful moments. In such a short time, she was able to meet many people, complete numerous tasks, and gain experiences that she considers part of her core memories. Through CVAP, she felt that a new part of herself had been unlocked—one that pushed her to explore her creativity and potential.

However, the journey was not easy. Jordin had to balance her work responsibilities, CVAP assignments, and personal life, which sometimes felt overwhelming. Despite the challenges, she embraced the experience because she believed that growth comes from stepping outside one’s comfort zone. For her, being challenged meant learning new things, testing her patience, and becoming a better version of herself.

Joining CVAP also had a deeper personal meaning for Jordin. During her college years, she had dreamed of studying Mass Communication and becoming part of production teams for events and films. She even dreamed of becoming a film director. However, due to practical concerns and advice from others, she eventually pursued nursing instead, setting aside her creative aspirations.

The CVAP experience allowed her to reconnect with that part of herself. It gave her a sense of healing and fulfillment by allowing her to pursue something she was truly passionate about.

When Jordin first joined the program, she admitted that she had no prior knowledge of voice acting. Her only connection to the field was her childhood dream of becoming a radio DJ and occasional comments from people who complimented her voice as suitable for broadcasting or announcements.

As the training progressed, she realized that voice acting involves much more than simply having a pleasant voice. It requires proper techniques, practice, and a willingness to experiment with different styles. One of the biggest challenges she faced was stepping outside her comfort zone, particularly when she was asked to create five different character voices as part of an assignment.

At first, the task felt overwhelming. It took her several days to think of characters she could imitate, and the pressure made her doubt whether she was truly capable of becoming a voice artist. In fact, she admitted that the challenge even made her emotional during the second week of the program.

During that difficult moment, she remembered an important lesson shared in the program: no one starts as an expert. People become great by starting, practicing, and improving over time. Holding onto that mindset helped her continue and eventually complete her assignments.

Another challenge Jordin encountered was managing her time. Many of her days off were spent completing CVAP tasks, which initially caused frustration. However, she later realized that achieving something meaningful requires dedication and effort. Since she had chosen to pursue this path, she knew she needed to invest her time and energy to improve her skills.

Fortunately, she was not alone in her journey. The mentors and trainers of the program played a significant role in guiding and encouraging participants. They were always ready to share their knowledge, provide feedback, and support the trainees whenever needed. Their passion for voice artistry inspired Jordin and her fellow participants to keep going despite the challenges.

She also expressed her gratitude to Voice Master Pocholo “Choi” Gonzales, whose generosity and vision created the Certified Voice Artist Program. Through this initiative, aspiring voice artists like Jordin were given the opportunity to learn, grow, and pursue their dreams.

Equally important were her voicemates, whose talents, stories, and shared experiences made the journey more colorful and memorable. Their support and camaraderie helped create a positive learning environment where everyone could grow together.

Looking back, Jordin considers her CVAP journey as one of the most meaningful experiences she has had. The program not only helped her develop voice acting skills but also reminded her of the importance of believing in herself and pursuing her passions.

As she proudly introduces herself today, Jordin—the Serene Voice Queen—continues to inspire others with a simple reminder: remain calm even in the midst of chaos.
