The Journey of Mark Alden Eldrez-Reyes
Mark Alden Eldrez-Reyes, known on social media as MarkNLN, is one of the aspiring voice artists who discovered his passion and potential through the Certified Voice Artist Program (CVAP). Often referred to by his peers as the “meme voice” of the group, Mark’s experience in the program is a story of learning, perseverance, and appreciation for a rare opportunity. 🎙️
Mark clearly remembers his first encounter with the CVAP community during a Zoom meeting on November 5, even before the official training session began. At first, the experience felt overwhelming. However, what surprised him most was the welcoming and friendly atmosphere of the group. Instead of feeling like a newcomer in a formal class, he felt as though he was surrounded by people who already treated him like a close friend. The mentors and participants created an environment that felt warm and familiar—almost like being part of a family.
As the program progressed, Mark began learning various techniques essential for voice acting. These included practical strategies on how to approach assignments, manage time effectively, and perform voice recordings without feeling too pressured or stressed. While the tasks were sometimes challenging, the lessons helped him understand that developing voice skills requires patience, dedication, and consistent practice.
Like many participants, Mark also had to balance the program with his responsibilities at home. There were moments when completing assignments seemed difficult due to limited time or other personal obligations. However, through discipline and proper planning, he found ways to accomplish his tasks. Each completed assignment became a small achievement that motivated him to continue improving.
One of the biggest challenges Mark encountered was recording voiceovers and dubbing projects from home. Without access to a professional recording studio, he had to work within the limitations of his room. Background noises—such as barking dogs, strong winds, or other environmental sounds—often interrupted his recordings and made the process more complicated. These experiences taught him how important a quiet and controlled environment is when producing voice recordings.
Despite these difficulties, Mark learned valuable skills about adapting to his surroundings. The program encouraged participants to be creative in setting up simple home recording spaces that could simulate a basic studio environment. This allowed him to continue practicing and producing voice recordings even without professional equipment. Through these experiences, he developed not only technical skills but also resourcefulness and patience.
Beyond the lessons and assignments, Mark describes the overall experience as enjoyable and fulfilling. He appreciates how rare opportunities like this are, especially during challenging times such as the pandemic. For him, being part of CVAP is something he considers himself fortunate to have experienced.
Mark also expressed deep gratitude to the mentors and organizers who made the program possible. Among them is Pocholo de Leon Gonzales, widely recognized as the VoiceMaster of the Philippines, whose dedication to mentoring aspiring voice artists continues to inspire many individuals. Mark also thanked the other facilitators and organizers who helped guide participants throughout the training.
Although he believes there is still much more he could share about his journey, Mark remains thankful for the lessons, friendships, and experiences he gained through the program. For him, CVAP is not just about learning voice techniques—it is about discovering new opportunities, building confidence, and connecting with people who share the same passion.
As he looks toward the future, Mark hopes that the program will continue to grow and inspire more aspiring voice artists. With determination and gratitude, he remains committed to improving his craft and making the most of every opportunity given to him.
For Mark Alden Eldrez-Reyes, the journey with CVAP is only the beginning of a path where passion, creativity, and voice come together to create endless possibilities.
