A Life-Changing Journey Through the Certified Voice Artist Program
For Angel Abenohar, also known as Corazones Vojelic, joining the Certified Voice Artist Program (CVAP) became a life-changing experience that opened a new chapter in her life. What started as a simple opportunity to learn voice acting eventually became a journey of personal growth, faith, and self-discovery. 🎙️
At the beginning of the program, Angel admitted that she felt extremely nervous during the classes. She was afraid of being called during discussions and worried about making mistakes in front of others. In fact, she jokingly shared that she was somewhat grateful for their unstable internet connection because it sometimes prevented her from turning on her camera. Behind this lighthearted comment, however, was a deeper fear of embarrassment and self-doubt.
Despite these initial fears, the first and most important lesson she learned from CVAP was the importance of trust—trust in God and trust in oneself. For Angel, trusting God means recognizing that all talents and opportunities come from Him. At the same time, trusting oneself is essential in order to share the gifts that God has given—not to boast about them, but to inspire others through them. This mindset helped her slowly overcome her fears and embrace the opportunities presented in the program.
Throughout the training, Angel discovered a talent she previously thought was simply a playful hobby. Through CVAP, she realized that voice acting could actually be a meaningful skill that brings both joy and purpose. She learned how important it is to properly take care of the voice, to experiment with different vocal styles, and to portray various characters—from children to elderly personalities and many others.
Beyond vocal performance, the program also introduced her to the professional side of voice work. She gained knowledge about the technical aspects of the industry, including voiceover techniques, the importance of understanding contracts, and how to communicate and collaborate with different people in professional settings. While learning these concepts was exciting, she also realized that true growth comes not just from understanding lessons but from applying them in real life.
Angel also shared that her journey in CVAP was shaped by the people who supported and inspired her. Above all, she credited God for guiding her path and allowing her to become part of the program. She also expressed deep admiration for Pocholo de Leon Gonzales, also known as Sir Choi, the VoiceMaster behind CVAP. What impressed her most was not only his talent but also his humility and generosity. Instead of keeping his knowledge to himself, he willingly shared his expertise with aspiring voice artists, encouraging them to grow and succeed.
Angel was also grateful for the encouragement of her breakout room teammates and mentors. She gave special recognition to their group leader Austin, who consistently checked on everyone and ensured that each member stayed on track with their assignments. She also expressed heartfelt appreciation for Albert, who patiently helped edit her videos despite the limitations of her older mobile phone. Additionally, she acknowledged her mentor Ma’am She’s Red, who became more than just a teacher to her. For Angel, Ma’am She’s Red was like a caring mother figure who guided, reminded, and supported them throughout the journey.
Looking back, Angel described her CVAP journey as both joyful and transformative. The experience challenged her to adapt, multitask, and discover her versatility. More importantly, she gained not only knowledge but also wisdom, compassion, meaningful friendships, and a stronger sense of purpose.
After completing the program, Angel hopes to continue the spirit of generosity that she witnessed in her mentors. Inspired by the example of Sir Choi, she plans to volunteer and help others discover their own talents. She believes that true passion is not measured by emotions alone but by the decisions we make to serve and uplift others.
Angel’s story reminds us that success does not come without dedication and perseverance. With faith, determination, and a willing heart, even the smallest opportunities can lead to extraordinary transformations.
For Angel Abenohar of CVAP Batch 13, the journey is only beginning—but the lessons, friendships, and inspiration she gained will continue to guide her as she moves forward in life and in the world of voice artistry.
