So Near, Yet So Far | CVAP9 | Day 4

It is the last day of the Certified Voice Artist Program Batch 9!

A few more tasks are left on my To-Do List.

And two weeks from now, my Voicemates and I will be graduating from the program.

Is it the end of it all?

Nope. This is just the beginning.

Graduation from CVAP may just be a few assignments and a few nights of sleep away, but Day 4 made me realize that a lot more practice, auditions, and rejections will be encountered before we reap the fruit of our labor and passion.

Ms. Lyn Gonzales, one of the day's speakers, told us that first, that two roads will diverge in front of us after CVAP. Once we reach it, we will either take one road that will lead us to our other priorities, or we may take the other road..the one of voice artistry.

Ms. Lyn shared with us a few more reminders that we should keep in mind should we decide to progress in this journey of voice artistry.

INVEST. We must invest in quality equipment, time, and effort.

PRACTICE. Just like other skills, our voiceover and voice acting skills will further be developed if we regularly train.

BE PATIENT. Getting a voiceover project will not be instant. In fact, getting rejections will be more common. So, aside from preparing our skills, we must also prepare our emotional strength in handling multiple failed attempts. These must be considered as stepping stones to improve our craft and our perspective towards learning.
