IT’S CVAP DAY 4 AND I MISSED IT

It’s seven in the morning, September 25th, it was a cloudy day but I cannot stay in my bed any minute longer. Took a bath then put on the clothes I prepared last night. After that, I closed my laptop, put it in my bag, then headed out. Yes, it’s supposed to be our final session for CVAP batch nine, but no, I was not preparing to be with the group, unfortunately.

The Explanation

A week ago I received a call from my friend who needed my technical expertise in program video coverage. Having missed him, I had to say yes, and sacrifice my final session with the voice acting workshop I joined. I had to, I had bills to pay, and my real passion is calling out on me again. So instead of sitting down on my work desk that day, I was on the field setting up video gears for a wedding. For the full morning, my head was wrapped around the knowledge and helpful tips I would be missing from not joining the zoom call. I kept thinking about opening it through my phone but my task that day just asks too much of my brain power which doesn’t give me the option to multitask. So around 10 AM, I finally accepted the fact that I will miss everything.

Friends Indeed

Thankfully, with the help of my BR group, other voicemates, and the zoom recording, I was able to review the meeting! LOL! There I found out what exactly they were talking about for the whole day and the activities they did. Starting with my favorite, the hosts, calling out names to perform right at the very start, this time, the hosts decided to let them do tongue twisters. After this, a few more speakers came in and had their ever inspiring, motivational, and informative talks. Lyn Gonzales for example and then Nikkie Esmero, and of course the voice master Pocholo Gonzales. The voicemaster gave us a tour of his studio. Although virtually, he was able to impart important details on how to create a home recording studio. The video gave me a nostalgic feel of how I started doing voice overs and the time that I decided to build my own home office. After the tour, he shared a few more words of wisdom, reminding us of our real purpose as a new pledged member of the CVAP family.

As usual, every afternoon, there will always be a task for us as a group. This time, I can say it was a task that would require all our learnings, starting from day one to day two because the BR groups are to create a dubbing activity live. Although I was not able to be with my group that time to help them out, they played the dubbing so well, that even on some points my team mates from BR 7 LDSM were acting their hats off. I had fun reviewing the clips, real fun because I couldn’t imagine if I was there, acting and doing these kinds of things. Again, this isn’t really my forte. That said, to contribute to my group's effort, I volunteered to be the one to handle the final editing for the last group activity we’ll ever have, still, to do dubbing on a film.

Farewell

Today is the second Saturday that I won’t be seeing my CVAP family in a CVAP session, although I missed the fourth day of the Certified Voice Artist Program, I never felt like I have because of the the virtual meetings we hold every now and then, I have to admit, I will miss them when the meetings stop. Though hopefully I would remain in the loop as closely as possible so I can still serve this new family I’m with now. And as we wait for the day of our graduation, the day we will depart from this new kick start of our lives I can only wish myself luck, and the same to all my new friends in CVAP.
