On September 22, 2023, the Philippine Trade Training Center (PTTC), an agency of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), hosted a momentous event in celebration of National Creative Industries Month and the launching of the ENSAYO Creative Hub. It symbolizes the Philippines' commitment to fostering the creative industry in accordance with the Philippines Creative Industries Development Act, a law that recognizes the previous role of creativity in our nation's growth. It empowers creative talent, fosters capacity building, and encourages networking and collaboration within the creative ecosystem. It's a huge step towards making the Philippines' creative potential shine on the global stage.
As part of the festivities, the event started with various performers gracing the stage, showcasing the diverse and vibrant talent that makes up the Philippine creative industry. Tanghalang Bagong Sibol, Sindaw, National Ballroom Ensemble, and J-Crisis were among the outstanding performers who captivated the audience, reaffirming the depth of creativity within the nation.
The event was smoothly facilitated by a team of emcees led by SJ Relucio from the PTTC, together with Bryan Dave Perez and Grazia Esther Salazar from Creativoices, Certified Voice Artist Program (CVAP).
PTTC-GMEA Executive Director, Ms. Nelly Nita Dillera gave welcoming remarks where she described the opening of the program as EPIC. EPIC stands for Entrepreneurship, Platform, Innovation, and Collaboration. She also introduced partnerships with institutions such as iAcademy and the Fashion Institute of the Philippines which are making use of high technology equipment like laser cutter. And some of the students' creations were on display, such as the Philippine national costume with a distinctive twist and detailed embroidery. She also acknowledged and expressed gratitude for the support of their partners at the event. President of SIKAP Creative Contents Creators Association of the Philippines Ms. Maria Rausch, Mr. James Lo, President of the Game Developers Association of the Philippines, Ms. Marlyn Montano of the Animation Council of the Philippines, Top Draw Animation, Iskaparate, One FM Palawan, the Department of Tourism, Municipality of Aklan, Municipality of T'boli, Creativoices, Certified Voice Artist Program, YokiFy, and Halili Dance Company.
The secretary of DTI, Mr. Alfredo E. Pascual also gave a keynote speech where he emphasizes that ENSAYO Creative Hub is more than just a work space. He said that, "It is a haven for collaboration and nexus of ideas, and a foundation for a stronger, united, creative community."
The ENSAYO Creative Hub serves as a platform for collaboration and innovation. A project that aims to boost the Philippines' creative industry, which serves as another source of the economy's growth. This will help the Philippines stay competitive on the global market and create more jobs and opportunities.
