Finding Confidence Through Voice: A CVAC Batch 7 Testimony

 A CVAC Batch 7 Testimony

For Nazerine Estrada Macarambon, joining the Certified Voice Artist Course (CVAC) Batch 7 became a transformative journey of self-discovery, confidence, and purpose. Known by her personal voice brand “Voice Guru,” Nazerine believes that her voice is not just a tool for performance, but also a powerful instrument for spiritual guidance and mentoring, especially for the youth.

Before joining CVAC, Nazerine struggled with a common misconception about her voice. She believed that her high-pitched voice was a weakness. Because most of her previous training and speaking engagements—both in government and non-government settings—required a calm and steady tone, she felt that her natural voice did not fit the expected standard.

Another challenge she faced was expressing a wide range of emotions through her voice. Nazerine had always maintained a neutral tone, which made it difficult for her to deliver exaggerated reactions such as excitement or extreme joy—skills that are often necessary in voice acting, particularly in anime dubbing, which had always been one of her childhood dreams.

When she joined CVAC, Nazerine initially expected that the program would help her change her high-pitched voice. However, the experience led her to a surprising realization. Instead of changing her voice, the program helped her appreciate and embrace it.

Through the lessons and guidance she received, Nazerine learned that she did not need to alter her voice completely. Instead, she simply needed to develop and enhance it, learning how to properly use and adapt it depending on the situation and character. CVAC provided her with the tools and techniques that guided her in discovering how her unique voice could become her strength.

Her motivation for joining the program was deeply connected to her dream of one day becoming an anime voice actor. What started as a childhood fantasy gradually became a clearer goal as she gained confidence and knowledge through the course.

Beyond the technical training, Nazerine described CVAC as both encouraging and empowering. The program does not only focus on teaching voice acting techniques but also prepares participants for the real environment of the voice industry. It helps aspiring voice artists understand the journey they must take to build a career in the field.

The assignments and practical exercises in the program also helped boost her confidence, allowing her to apply what she learned in real-life situations.

Today, Nazerine continues to use her voice in meaningful ways. She currently leads and mentors young people through a platform called the Zaki app, where she provides guidance and encouragement. Many of the youth she works with fondly call her “Voice Guru” or “Ati Guru,” recognizing her role as a mentor who uses her voice to inspire and guide them.

Looking back, Nazerine strongly recommends the CVAC program to others. For her, it is a valuable learning experience that empowers individuals not only to improve their technical skills but also to discover the deeper purpose behind their voice.

She even hopes that in the future, she will be able to sponsor a scholar who can join the program and experience the same growth and empowerment she did.

As she reflects on her journey, Nazerine expresses her gratitude to Voice Master Pocholo “Choi” Gonzales and leaves him with a thought-provoking question:

“If you die tomorrow, what will you be doing today?”

For Nazerine, the answer is clear continue using her voice to guide, inspire, and empower others.
