From Invitation to Inspiration: JP’s Journey with the Certified Voice Artist Program

JP’s Journey with the Certified Voice Artist Program

For JP of Voice Solution PH, joining the Certified Voice Artist Program (CVAP) was an unexpected opportunity that turned into a powerful and inspiring learning experience. What began with a simple invitation eventually became a journey that helped him grow, develop his voice skills, and discover more about the voice industry.

JP’s CVAP journey started when he received a message from his graduate school advisor, who had attended a previous batch of the program. Knowing JP’s involvement in their graduate school organization—where he often handled voiceovers, hosting, and speaking engagements—his advisor encouraged him to join the training to further enhance his skills.

Although JP already had experience speaking in public, such as reading in masses, serving as a commentator, and hosting events, he admitted that he had no professional experience in voice dubbing or voice acting. Curious about the program, he began researching CVAP and discovered that it was founded by Voice Master Pocholo “Choi” Gonzales, a well-known figure in the Philippine voice acting industry whose work he had previously seen on television and viral videos.

Since he had recently finished his thesis and was waiting for his graduation, JP decided to dedicate four Saturdays to attend the training. At first, he thought CVAP would simply be an information session where participants would listen to lectures, memorize concepts, and take an exam to become certified.

However, he soon realized that the program was much more than that.

While CVAP did include lessons about the technical aspects of voice artistry, the program focused more on helping participants discover their strengths and bring out their best potential as voice artists. Through the sessions, JP gained valuable insights into the voice industry and learned from the real-life experiences of other certified voice artists.

One of the most memorable parts of the program for him was learning directly from Voice Master Pocholo Gonzales. Even though the sessions were conducted online through Zoom, JP felt a strong personal connection through the teachings and stories shared during the training. The experience left him deeply inspired and proud to be part of CVAP Batch 6.

JP also expressed gratitude to the many people who helped make the program meaningful. He thanked Miss Aizev for introducing him to CVAP, as well as the dedicated team behind the program, including Program Director Miss Nikki, Sir Jeff, Sir Richard, and the CVAP alumni who shared their inspiring journeys.

He also appreciated his fellow participants and groupmates, whom he fondly referred to as the Press Bosses. Coming from different backgrounds, each member brought unique experiences and strengths to the group. JP particularly mentioned the leadership of Gabby, the expertise of Papa Lem in voice talent and hosting, and the support of other members such as Adrian, Mel, Ellen, and Miss Amalia.

Their assigned mentor, Sir Irville, also played an important role in guiding the group by providing helpful advice and tips during their assignments and group presentations.

For JP, the program was not only about learning voice techniques but also about becoming a better version of himself. Through CVAP, he felt more confident, empowered, and motivated to serve others using his voice.

Looking ahead, JP plans to apply everything he learned from the program and take advantage of opportunities in the voice industry whenever they arise. More importantly, he carries with him the lessons and inspiration that CVAP has given him.

JP describes his experience in the Certified Voice Artist Program as life-changing, and he encourages others who are interested in voice artistry to experience the program for themselves.

After all, as the program teaches, someone out there needs to hear your voice
