Becoming Anie Voice | CVAP9 | Day 1

I registered for the Certified Voice Artist Program with the aim of gaining three Ks: Kaalaman, Kakayahan, and a lot of Kaibigan. The first day of the program came and ended...and I have confirmed that I will definitely get those three Ks here!

The Certified Voice Artist Program (CVAP) is a brainchild of the best voice artist in the Philippines (go ahead, verify it with Google), the VoiceMaster himself, Mr. Pocholo De Leon Gonzales. The program, which has been running for over a year already, provides training for aspiring voice artists. And that includes me! CVAP Batch 9 has started on September 4, 2021, and I would like to share some of what has transpired in our fun-filled day using the program's acronym, C-V-A-P.

Culture

The CVAP has an empowering atmosphere. From the VoiceMaster, to the CVAP Secretariat, CVAP graduates, and my voicemates, everyone is emanating positive energy that encourages even the timidest voicemate. It is just so comforting to know that despite the negativity around, there is this small but happy community of people who are generous in giving, sharing, loving, and caring. This warm environment, though virtual, is also a safe place to nurture one's confidence and skills in voice artistry, evidenced by the program's competent Certified Voice Artists.

Value

The discussions on Day 1 made us reflect on who we are and what we have done for the people around us. In other words, what is our core value? This is quite a question that I think is necessary for branding ourselves. It is essential that we look back and deeper into who and what we really are so that when we present ourselves, we do not go far away from our core.

Affirmation

Another thing that welcomed us, Batch 9, in the program is a load of affirmations that the mentors shared. These wonderful words of wisdom and positivity further strengthened my self-confidence and my positive outlook in life, generally. "I believe in myself." "I feel great today!" "I am capable." "I love my voice." "I can do it!" These are the reminders that I will start telling myself to keep me going on especially in times when I feel low-spirited.

Pochology

What is CVAP without Pochology? It's boring! Well, Pochology refers to the thoughts and sayings that come out straight from the VoiceMaster's mind. I tell you, they are a mixture of insightful wise words, sweet cheesy lines, or amusing hugot lines that will surely make you want for more! I tried writing them down as I hear them. Let's see if Sir Pocholo will eventually make a book out of his Pochology!

Anie Voice

I will conclude my CVAP Day 1 Blog with the brand name I have come up with. We were told that our brand must contain the word "voice" or any variation of it. It was indeed a challenge to make one as I tried my best to make it true to myself, meaningful, and catchy at the same time. So, I thought of Anie Voice. Anie is from my first name Melanie. As it is pronounced, it may also sound like "any. "

I also composed a tagline out of it which reflects the affirmations that I took out of what Day 1 taught me. This tagline will serve as a reminder not just to myself, but also to someone out there who needs to hear it.

"Believe in your Voice; Anie thing is possible."
