CVAP DAY 3 Sept 18, 2021
Today is the 3rd day of our training with CVAP. Host of the day are Lara Cruz, Richard Abalos and Jeff Perey. The first speaker of the day is Papa Lem Ferolino known as the Voice Pappy. He explained that you need to believe in yourself. These are the words of wisdom he said, “ Maniwala ka sa sarili mo. If you love your passion just go do what you love. “ He shared the hardships when he was starting .
OUR TALENT IS A GIFT FROM GOD ! Don’t use our voice para manira ng ibang tao.
6 advises that I learned today !
1. Recite the CVAP Mantra. Share POSITIVITY
2. Huwag matakot na ang susunod na generation ay greater than you.
3. We need our voices to INSPIRE TOUCHED and ENTERTAIN people. Trust the process.
4. Be relevant, get some exposure, grab any opportunity.
5. Engage with your audience.
6. Aanhin pa ang boses at talento kung di ginagamit sa kabutihan.
The next speaker of the day was the CVAP program Director Ms Nikie Esmero. She said that
“ Believing in yourself sees the potential in you” . You need to be empowered. Your life encompasses other people by making the world a better place. Volunteering is important . Realize why are you doing this. “ We have a responsibility to share our message and our voice to make this world a better place”.

Power Point Presentation:
Whats NEXT? .You need to PRACTICE
.More importantly, you need to TALK.
.You have to read aloud, so you can use the elements of your voice and apply the formula you learned last session
So how do you practice? Record yourself
.You need to get used to how you sound in a recording
.Our voices differ from how we hear it, to how others actually hear it.
Why should we do tongue twisters?
Teaches us presence of mind
.The same goes with voice acting.
.We use high-quality equipment, from the mic to the speakers, that’s why every sound that you make will be picked up in the recording.
.Most tongue twisters would have a different meaning if you don’t pronounce it properly.
.That’s why you have to really focus in pronouncing every word.
Improves our pronunciation
.You cannot change what is written in the script, no matter how badly written it is.
.It is part of your job to read the script properly and clearly, no matter what.
.Your tongue is challenged with hard-to-pronounce syllables, which you have to enunciate properly and clearly.
.As a voice artist, you will encounter different kinds of scripts/copy, written by all kinds of writers.
Mr. AMA Danny Mandia. He shared how he started in 1991 using BETAMAX RECORDING
originally a theater actor /director. He taught at the Miriam College when Noel Mallonga a co-theater
actor invited him to translate Ultraman or Magma Man. Using a BETAMAX TAPE RECORDER
/ PLAYER he translated it mesuring the the opening of the mouth in dubbing. Later on he was invited
to dub and became the dubbing supervisor later the dubbing director. In 1992 Gina Leviste of
ABS=CBNChannel 2 hired him to handle dubbers and dubbing. His first project was the Poseidon
where he dubbed the commander . This were followed by Ultraman Ace, Dog of Flanders, Peter Pan,
Remy, Secret Garden and many classical cartoons. Sir Pocholo Gonzales were one of the first dubbers
under his wings. Later they started to train dubbers therough Creative Voices and more dubbers were
born .ABS -CBN put up a new set up in hiring dubbers like they were employee. They managed their
time of reporting when dubbing. Metero Garden the phenomenal telenovela in 1990s was one of their
job . Dubbers became in demand after meteor Garden.
Question and Answer
What is dubbing in the early 1990s?
He replied The dubbing during the 1990s has a very distinctive characters . People can identify the
characters just by listening to the voices.
Different people have different
cultures .. After the talk of Ama Danny Mandia we prepared for our workshop presentation, where we
played the role of super heroes.
Workshop INSTRUCTIONS.
Think of who you are. Who are you? What is your life’s mission or purpose?
Who do you want to serve? Identify your super power
Think of how broken our world is.
What problem would you like to solve?
What do people in the world need now?
IDENTIFY HOW YOU CAN SOLVE THIS.
Think of how YOU and your TEAMMATES can work together and help make this world a better place. What story do you want to tell
This was the last part of our training and ended after we had our presentation. I chose the role of MARIANG MAKILING.
